Purnomo Yusgiantoro Center (PYC) Focus Group Discussion “Economic Feasibility of Natural Gas Policy: Benefit and Cost Approach”

Indonesian Gas Society (IGS) participated in a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) organized by the Purnomo Yusgiantoro Center (PYC) as part of a study on the economic feasibility of natural gas policy. The discussion addressed challenges related to national gas supply and pricing, including limitations of the Domestic Gas Price Policy (HGBT), declining domestic production due to natural decline, and fragmentation in gas distribution networks.

The forum also examined several policy options based on cost–benefit analysis, such as redirecting LNG exports to the domestic market, LNG imports, and the proposed establishment of a gas aggregator to improve distribution efficiency and price stability.
