PT Perusahaan Gas Negara (Persero) Tbk (PGN) stated that its GasKita natural gas product is ready to reach thousands of households in the Cirebon area, West Java.
PGN Cirebon Area Head Rhomy Adhy Prastiyo, in a statement in Jakarta on Monday, said that the use of natural gas for households is a concrete step in supporting the national energy transition while improving people's quality of life.
"We see the public's need for practical, safe, and reliable energy continues to grow. Through the GasKita service, PGN wants to provide an energy solution that is not only efficient and environmentally friendly, but also provides comfort for families," he said.
He is also optimistic that the potential for natural gas development in Cirebon remains enormous.
With the support of the community and local government, he continued, PGN hopes that more families can enjoy the benefits of natural gas for their daily needs.
According to Rhomy, the company continues to expand education and outreach to the public through the GasKita service, a household energy solution that prioritizes safety, comfort, and efficiency.
Coinciding with the 599th anniversary of Cirebon City, PGN enlivened the atmosphere with the GasKita Family Festival, titled "Safe Gas, Comfortable Cooking!", held in Larangan Village, Harjamukti District, Cirebon, on Sunday (June 21, 2026).
The festival, presented in a relaxed and interactive manner, provided a platform for the public to learn more about the benefits of natural gas, from its safety aspects and ease of use to the economic benefits customers can experience.
Currently, PGN's Cirebon Area serves more than 40,000 household customers, 260 small customers, and dozens of industrial customers across Cirebon City and Regency, including Majalengka and Indramayu Regencies.
"This number of customers demonstrates the high level of public trust in natural gas as a safe, efficient, and sustainable energy source," said Rhomy.
In line with this, PGN continues to integrate the natural gas business chain from upstream to downstream in a sustainable manner, including accelerating the construction and utilization of the household gas network (jargas) in Cirebon City, which has significant development potential.
By 2026, PGN is targeting the construction of 3,008 household connections (SR) in the Cirebon area.
"This development is expected to expand public access to cleaner energy while supporting the achievement of the national jargas development target," he said.
For PGN, Rhomy added, the development of GasKita is not just about providing energy, but also part of an effort to improve the community's quality of life.
"With safe and convenient energy access, people can carry out their daily activities more efficiently while contributing to supporting the national energy transition," he said.
As part of PGN's commitment to supporting the national energy transition, according to Rhomy, the PGN Cirebon Area will continue to expand natural gas access and improve public education.
Through the development of reliable infrastructure and customer-oriented services, PGN hopes that more Cirebon residents will be able to enjoy the benefits of safe, practical, and sustainable energy to support a better life.
PGN is optimistic that, through collaboration with the community and stakeholders, the use of clean energy in Cirebon will continue to grow and benefit the well-being of the community and future generations.
