LNG Japan Corporation

LNG Japan Corporation was established on October 1, 2001 as a joint venture between Sojitz Corporation and Sumitomo Corporation. The company operates across the full LNG value chain from developing gas fields and managing liquefaction facilities to operating LNG carriers and handling trading and supply activities. In Indonesia, LNG Japan is involved through the Tangguh LNG Project in West Papua, where it holds a participating interest acquired in 1999 and continues to contribute to the development of production facilities, including the commissioning of Train 3. Beyond its upstream activities, the company has expanded into the downstream sector by acquiring shares in PT Bayu Buana Gemilang, which distributes industrial gas, and by supporting domestic LNG transportation projects such as LNG deliveries to Bali.
