A Long History in Indonesia
INPEX began operations in Indonesia in 1966 through NOSOPEX and soon entered a PSC for the Offshore Mahakam Block. Key milestones followed: the Attaka Unit with Unocal (1970) and first oil and gas in 1972; a 50% farm-out to Total that led to successive finds at Bekapai, Handil, Tambora, Tunu, and Peciko. INPEX also participated in South Natuna Sea Block B (with ConocoPhillips/Chevron) and East Kalimantan (with Chevron) until the PSCs concluded in 2017–2018.
Current Portfolio & Values
Today INPEX is operator of the Masela Block (since 1998) and Babar Selaru (since 2011), and a partner in Berau/Tangguh LNG (since 2001, BP operator) as well as Sebuku (2010) and West Sebuku (2012, Mubadala operator). The company’s Mission, Sustainability and Business Principles, Code of Conduct, and INPEX Values guide a unified culture focused on safety, integrity, partnership, and long-term value for Indonesia and the region.
