The Head of the Special Task Force for Upstream Oil and Gas Business Activities (SKK Migas), Djoko Siswanto, stated that two new liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) plants have successfully reached the commissioning stage, or trial production.
"We're just waiting for the inauguration. Commissioning is complete; all that remains is the LPG or LNG trading permits. Once the permits are in place, the inauguration will take place," Djoko stated at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources office on Tuesday (May 18, 2026).
Djoko confirmed that the two plants are owned by private oil and gas companies, not state-owned enterprises.
"It's private," he said briefly.
For your information, the two LPG plants referred to by Djoko are the Cilamaya LPG Plant operated by PT Energi Nusantara Perkasa (ENP) and the Tuban LPG Plant operated by PT Sumber Aneka Gas (SAG).
Previously, in a hearing with Commission XII of the House of Representatives (DPR) on Wednesday (April 8, 2026), Djoko stated that the planned inauguration of the Cimalaya LPG plant was initially scheduled for April 2026.
"Hopefully, this April we will inaugurate the LPG plant in Cilamaya. It will be able to produce 163 metric tons (mt) of LPG per day. The condensate will be 1,891 barrels of oil per day (bpd)," Djoko said before Commission XII of the House of Representatives.
Meanwhile, the Tuban LPG Plant is expected to increase production by 30 mt/day and condensate by 348 bpd.
In addition to the projects ready for production, the Upstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Special Task Force (SKK Migas) is promoting the development of several strategic LPG infrastructure projects in several regions.
In addition to the two projects mentioned above, there are three other LPG processing plant development projects planned.
First, the Jambi Merang LPG Plant with a production capacity of approximately 320 mt/day. The project is planned to be operational for the first time in the second quarter of 2027.
Second, the Senoro LPG Plant, with an estimated production of around 54 mt/day, is targeted to be operational in 2027.
Third, there is the potential for the East Java LPG Plant project, which will be undertaken by PT ARSynergy, with an estimated production capacity of 50 mt/day. SKK Migas is targeting the plant's operational start in 2027.
"God willing, the President also plans to inaugurate these LPG plants," Djoko said at the House of Representatives (DPR).
