PT Pertamina Hulu Indonesia (PHI) once again held a media gathering with journalists covering the energy sector through the PHI-Style Oil and Gas Talk (BASO IGA PHI) Special Edition, held in Jakarta on Thursday (April 23, 2026).
Themed "Forging Relationships, Strengthening Synergy for Sustainable National Energy," the event was attended by more than 40 journalists, including editors-in-chief, editors, and reporters from various national media outlets. This strategic forum served as a platform to strengthen relationships and strengthen synergy in fostering public understanding and support for the national upstream oil and gas industry.
Handri Ramdhani, Senior Manager of Relations at PHI, stated that the Company's operational performance in the first quarter of 2026 successfully exceeded management targets.
"From January to March 2026, the Company successfully recorded oil production above target, with realization exceeding 120%. Positive performance was also demonstrated for gas production, which was approximately 104% above target," said Handri.
PHI, through its subsidiaries, namely PT Pertamina Hulu Mahakam, PT Pertamina Hulu Sanga Sanga, and PT Pertamina Hulu Kalimantan Timur, manages upstream oil and gas operations in the Kalimantan region. PHI also manages the assets of PT Pertamina EP and PHE in this region.
Through this BASO IGA Forum, PHI affirms its commitment to continuously strengthening strategic collaboration with the press as a vital partner in conveying accurate, balanced, and constructive information to the public. Solid synergy can help maintain the operational sustainability and contribution of the upstream oil and gas industry to national energy security and the nation's well-being.
On this occasion, PHI also reintroduced the "Appreciation of Kalimantan Energy Journalists 2026" (APEKA 2026) program, a journalistic competition specifically related to PHI's role and contribution to the upstream oil and gas industry and national energy security. The APEKA program affirms the Company's commitment to providing wider participation for journalists to produce quality journalistic work in the energy sector, particularly upstream oil and gas.
This year marks the second edition, with the theme "From Kalimantan for Indonesia: Strengthening the Role of Energy for the Nation's Future." The scope of participants will be expanded to include journalists from around PHI's operational areas in Kalimantan.
APEKA 2026 is expected to produce a more perspective-rich, comprehensive, and inspiring narrative of Indonesia's upstream oil and gas sector, presenting diverse perspectives from various regions. The competition includes several categories: print media, online media, television media, radio media, photo essays, and a category for the most active participant. Publication and submission of entries are open from April 30 to August 16, 2026. The winner will be announced in September 2026.
The company recognizes that the recent geopolitical situation has created high levels of uncertainty, complexity, and ambiguity. This requires journalists as individuals to be more adaptable. In this Special Edition of BASO IGA, PHI's Manager of Communication, Relations & CID (CRC), Dony Indrawan, presented an inspiring presentation titled "Tips for Successfully Managing Change in Life," explaining the stages of the transition process. The transition process consists of four stages: Understanding Fear, Testing Hope and Belief, Exploring Control and Choice, Seeking Information and Opportunities from Related Parties, and Maintaining Self-Care.
