The Special Task Force for Upstream Oil and Gas Business Activities (SKK Migas) is targeting eight oil and gas fields to come onstream by 2026.

These eight fields are claimed to have the potential to increase oil production by 8,199 barrels per day (bpd) and gas by 214 million standard cubic feet per day (MMscfd).

SKK Migas Head Djoko Siswanto explained that these eight fields have the potential to increase oil and gas production by 46,413 barrels of oil equivalent per day (boepd) in 2026, with a total capital expenditure (capex) of US$478 million.

"The additional production in 2026 [from the eight projects] will be 8,200 barrels of oil per day. The gas output will be 214 MMscfd," Djoko said in a hearing with Commission XII of the House of Representatives (DPR) on Wednesday (February 11, 2026).

Furthermore, the eight oil and gas fields have a design oil production capacity of 8,467 bpd. They also have a gas production capacity of 389 MMscfd. Thus, these fields will be capable of producing a total of 77,969 bpd of oil and gas.

Field Details

According to data presented by the Upstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Special Task Force (SKK Migas), the first field targeted for onstream is the Sidingin North-1 Fasprod, managed by PT Pertamina Hulu Rokan (PHR).

This project has an oil production capacity of up to 325 bpd and is targeted for onstream in the first quarter of 2026.

Second is the Polymer Minas Area D field, also managed by PHR. This oil and gas field has an oil production capacity of 1,212 bpd and is targeted for onstream in the second quarter of 2026.

Third is the Puspa Asri development or upgrading project, managed by PT Pertamina EP. This project is targeted for a capacity of up to 1,034 bpd and is expected to be onstream in the fourth quarter of 2026.

Fourth is the NSD Plant, managed by EMP Bentu Ltd. This field is targeted for an oil production capacity of up to 90 bpd and a gas production capacity of 20 MMSCFD. SKK targets the NSD Plant to be onstream in the second quarter of 2026.

Fifth, Sisi Nubi AOI 1,3,5 Phase II, managed by PT Pertamina Hulu Mahakam. The Special Task Force for Upstream Oil and Gas (SKK) targets this field to have a gas production capacity of 180 MMSCFD, with on-stream capacity expected in the first quarter of 2026.

Sixth, Suban Compressor Clustering, managed by Medco E&P Grissik Ltd., has a gas production capacity of 118 MMSCFD, and is expected to be on-stream in the second quarter of 2026.

Seventh, OO-OX, managed by PT Pertamina Hulu Energi ONWJ. This oil and gas field is targeted to have an oil production capacity of 2,996 bpd and a gas production capacity of 21.3 MMSCFD. SKK hopes the field will be on-stream in the first quarter of 2026.

Eighth, Senoro Selatan Phase II, managed by JOB Pertamina-Medco E&P Tomori Sulawesi. This project is targeted to have an oil production capacity of 2,800 bpd and a gas production capacity of 110 MMSCFD. The Special Task Force for Upstream Oil and Gas (SKK) is targeting the field's onstream operation in the first quarter of 2026.

For the record, 15 projects will begin operations or come onstream throughout 2025, with an investment value of US$753.2 million.

Total oil and gas production from these 15 projects in 2025 is set at 57,576.5 barrels per day of oil and 749.7 million standard cubic feet of gas, totaling 191,451.5 barrels per day (boepd).

The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources officially reported that oil lifting, or ready-to-sell production, reached 605,300 barrels per day (bpd) throughout 2025.

This realization represents 100.05% of the 2025 State Budget (APBN) target of 605,000 bpd.

On the gas side, sales-ready production throughout 2025 was recorded at 951,800 boepd, below the state budget target of 1.005 million boepd.
